This video takes you through the Cincinnati Art Academy's Chidlaw Gallery for my multimedia installation "Renewal". "Renewal" involved a site-specific installation constructed from driftwood, as well as found object sculpture, paintings, and audio art. The work serves as visual representations of the transition that occurs between lenses of self-perception described by Graham Cooke as “present-past” and “present-future”. A “present-past” mindset defines current life circumstances as having been determined by former experiences in a sense that prevents further progression. A “present-future” mindset authorizes the attainment of further self-realization and fulfillment by separating from non- conducive former thinking and behaviors.
